COVID Restrictions: 17 Train Passengers Pull Chain, De-Board In Bokajan

In an unusual incident, as many as 17 passengers in a train allegedly pulled the chain in Bokajan and de-boarded as the train did not halt at Dimapur due to COVID restrictions.

As per sources, locals apprehended the passengers soon after. Out of the 17, six are reported to be CRPF personnel.

The incident took place on the Rajinder Nagar Express bound for Tinsukia from Bihar.

Due to the ongoing pandemic situation, the train was not allowed to stop in Dimapur for which many passengers tried to pull the chain and escape, said sources.

Investigation on the incident is currently underway in full force by Bokajan police and railway police.
