Conrad denies pre-poll alliance with BJP

Pratidin Bureau

NPP Chief Conrad Sangma on Saturday refrained from forging any pre-poll alliance with BJP.

Sangma once again said that NPP will not engage in any kind of coalition with BJP this upcoming general election.

"We are continuing our stand that we will not allow Citizenship (Amendment) bill to be passed," Conrad clarified.  As per reports, NPP will put candidates for all 25 northeast seats.

Earlier, Sangma said that if necessary, considerations can be thought of after declaration of results.

Meanwhile, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has renewed its ties with the BJP to jointly fight the Lok Sabha elections next month, after it pulled out of the ruling alliance in the state.
