CM launches ANNA Yojana

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday launched the Affordable Nutrition & Nourishment Assistance (ANNA) Yojana in Guwahati.

Under the scheme, the government will provide free rice for tea garden workers and Re 1 per kg of rice for non-tea garden beneficiaries. According to government sources, ANNA yojana will cover upto 2,48,89,182 beneficiaries in the State.

Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, legal advisor to the CM Santanu Bharali and various other dignitaries were also presented during the launch of the scheme.
