CM inaugurates Assam Bhawan in Chennai

The Assam Bhawan in Chennai has been inaugurated today at Pallikaranai in the presence of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

Tamil Nadu Minister D Jayakumar, Assam Minister Atul Bora, Chandan Brahma, ATDC Chairman Jayanta Malla were also present at the inauguration ceremony.

The total amount of money sanctioned for the Bhawan was Rs 12.93 crore. The building has been built on an 1100 sqm.

The project had been sanctioned on January on 2011. The work on the four storied building started on February 2011 and was completed by June 2018.

The new Assam Bhawan has all the basic facilities such as restaurant, conference hall, one VVIP Suite room, three Suites, eight guest rooms and six four-bedded rooms.

The maintenance of the Bhawan has been taken up Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC).
