Clause 6 To be Implemented before Passing CAB: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) will be placed in the Parliament within December 10.

Reacting on CAB, BPF MP Biswajit Daimary said that the home minister had assured that before implementing CAB, Clause 6 of the Assam Accord will be implemented in order to safeguard the indigenous people of Assam.

Daimary said that Amit Shah will make sure that Clause 6 to be implemented first before the CAB being passed in the Parliament.

The homeminister has called on the representatives of political and non-politicalparties of Assam on Saturday at Assam House in New Delhi.

Assam ChiefMinister Sarbananda Sonowal, Ministers Phani Bhusan Choudhury, Kamala Kalita, AGPMP Birendra Prasad Baishya, BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary and Minister ChandanBrahma are present in the meeting.

Representativesof AIUDF, AAMSU, and AASU are also present in the meeting that has been takenplace in the Assam House.  

He also saidthat CAB will not come into the 6th schedule and inner line permit state.
