CJI Ranjan Gogoi visits Kamakhya amid tight security

Pratidin Bureau

Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi visited the Kamakhya temple along with his wife on Saturday. The CJI offered his prayers amid tight security.

The CJI landed at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport in Borjhar, where he received Guard of Honor by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans.

This time, CRPF jawans were deployed to ensure CJI Gogoi's security. Special Director General of CRPF Prabhat Singh has been personally looking the security arrangements.

It may be mentioned that earlier CJI Gogoi visited the Kamakhya temple on October 17 and was furious at the crowd management in the temple. The CJI came down heavily on Guwahati Police and DCP (Guwahati West) BL Meena was suspended due to lapse in ensuring adequate security arrangements for CJI Gogoi.

Meanwhile, CJI Gogoi will head back to Delhi this afternoon.
