In yet another sensational incident, a schoolteacher allegedly harassed a girl student in the city.

According to reports, the teacher, identified as Bhabid Chandra Deka, allegedly molested the Class X student, who went to his house for private tuition. However, the girl managed to escape from his house and later another woman rescued her. Reports also suggested the teacher attempted to drag her inside his vehicle after she ran away from his house.

Deka is an assistant teacher at the Barihat HigherSecondary School in Guwahati.

Meanwhile, family members of the girl lodged a complaint in the Gitanagar Police Station. In their complaint to police, the girl's family alleged that the teacher "attempted to do indecent things" with her. They also said that the teacher lured them by offering money to not file any complaint regarding the incident.
