Border Police SI declared as ‘foreigner’

In ashocking development, the North Guwahati Police has arrested an SI of BorderPolice on Wednesday; after the Foreigners' Tribunal declared him as a'foreigner'. Identified as Sanaullah, the SI of Border Police was declared as aforeigner on Thursday (May 23).

Notably,Sanaullah also served in the Indian Army for 30 years. He joined the Army as anofficial of Electronic and Mechanical Engineering department in 1987 and servedtill May 31, 2017. He had also received President's Medal in 2014. The residentof Kolohi village in Boko area, Sanaullah, later joined the Border Police in2018 as a Sub-Inspector.

Interestingly,the same Border Police had registered a case against Sanaullah on May 23, 2008accusing him of being a foreigner. The Foreigners' Tribunal has sent ashow-cause notice to the Ex-Army on November 4, 2018.

Meanwhile,sharp reactions are coming from various sections of people after Sanaullah wasdeclared as foreigner even after serving the nation for 30 year. Following thearrest, the Ex-Army has been sent to Goalpara detention centre.
