Bhagyabati Kachari’s medals stolen from Guwahati

Burglarshave stolen medals and other valuable items from boxer Bhagyabati Kachari's RailwayStaff Quarter in Guwahati's Maligaon. The boxer said her house in Maligaon wasbroken into on Friday, while she was in Delhi.

Kacharisaid she was "upset and angry" about the break-in and distressed by the thoughtthat "someone has been roaming around my house – destroying it and having noregards for any of our belongings".

Itmay be mentioned here that she won a gold medal at the 2nd India OpenInternational Boxing Tournament held in Guwahati.

Kachari said that the burglars have robbed 22 medals and other important documents from her house. She further asked the police to initiate an investigation regarding the incident.
