Bhagyabati Kachari clinches gold at Istanbul boxing Tournament

Bhagyabati Kachari (81 kg) clinched gold at the Ahmet Comert International Boxing Tournament in Istanbul on Sunday.

The Indian women's boxing team finished 3rd at the 32nd Ahmet Comert International Boxing Tournament in Turkey's Istanbul with 3 gold, 2 silver & 2 bronze medals.

Bhagyabati was also declared the most scientific boxer of the tournament, and the Indian women's team finished third.

Indian women boxers  Simranjit Kaur (64kg) and Monika (48kg)also claimed gold medals as Indian boxers notched up an impressive seven podium finishes along with Bhagyabati.

The 26 years old Bhagyabati , daughter of Deben Kachari and Chaitra Kachari from Udmari under Tangla Police Station in Udalguri district of Assam.

Chief Minister of Assam  Sarbananda Sonowal congratulated the boxer on her victory.
