‘Bajra Ninad’ rends air in city

The All Assam Students' Union (AASU) organises a mass agitation 'Bajra Ninad' in protest against the much debated Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in Guwahati on Wednesday. Besides AASU, 30 other organisations of the State have taken part in the protest at the Latasil playground in the city.

All ethnic organisations of Assam, artists and intelligentsia wholeheartedly extended cooperation in the protest.

The AASU and other 30 organisations have urged the all communities of Assam and intelligentsia to wholeheartedly extend cooperation in the series of protests. AASU general secretary Lurin Jyoti Gogoi informed Pratidin Time that they are organising the protest rally so that Narendra Modi-led BJP government in the Centre refrain from passing the Bill in the Rajya Sabha in the coming session of the Parliament from January 31.

Notably, various organizations and people across the State have been continuously staging protests against the Bill. According to reports, the city police are fully prepared and ready to prevent any untoward incidents from happening during the rally on Wednesday.
