At atime, when the Assam government is claiming that it has enough funds forrehabilitating the flood-affected people in the State, the Speaker of the AssamLegislative Assembly has to extend his helping hand by donating money from hisown pocket.

AssamAssembly Speaker Hitendra Nath Goswami on Thursday announced to donate his onemonth salary to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF). Apart from Goswami,the employees of Assam Secretariat have also decided to donate their one daysalary to the CMRF.

It maybe mentioned here that contributions to the CMRF continue to pour in as severalorganizations and individuals have been making donations towards the fund.
