A highly placed source of Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) on Monday denied that its TET question paper had been leaked, claiming 'miscreants' had circulated WhatsApp messages about a leak to disturb the sanctity of examinations.

"There is no possibility of question paper (TET paper) being leaked just a day before the examination. Saying that it was merely a rumour to confuse the job aspirants. SEBA assured the TET aspirants that no such incident reported to the department.

It is clear that someone, after receiving the question papers, clicked photographs and shared them through WhatsApp. This happened after the commencement of the examinations and therefore it cannot be said that question papers were leaked, sources said.

As per reports, a total of 3,93,479 candidates had applied. Of which, 2,30,482 had applied for lower primary TET and 1,66,079 did for upper primary. The test was held at 587 centres. Even though around 60% of them were deemed to be sensitive. Nearly 2.17 lakh more had applied but were rejected for not having requisite B.Ed degree.

Soon after the exam, candidates who appeared in Assam TET took to social media to share their experiences. A large majority claimed the paper to be tough. Though there is no specific point of comparison as the exam was been conducted only the second time since 2012.
