Assam starts vegetable export from Guwahati Airport

Good news for the farmers of Assam.

Now, the vegetable exporters and farmers will able to export their products to foreign countries directly from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBI Airport) Guwahati.

The first trip of the new venture had been flagged-off by exporting vegetables to Dubai from LGBI airport on Sunday.

Earlier, Assam farmers had to export their products to foreign countries through Kolkata airport. But, now they can directly export their products from here.

It may be mentioned that there are a number of unexploited areas in fruits, vegetables and other commodities having very high potential for export in Assam.

There are many countries in Europe who export vegetables to the US and other parts of the world. The demand for fresh fruit and vegetables are always high in the western countries.

India is one of the largest exporters of mango and other vegetables.
