Assam PWD introduces ‘In-Situ Stabilization’

For sustainable roads construction, the Assam PWD has introduced a new technology called In-Situ Stabilization or CTBS (Cement treated subbase) which enables recycling and reuse of existing road materials by mixing it with cement. This saves need for aggregates, mined from natural resources.

PWD Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday inaugurated the In-Situ Cement Treated Sub-Base by Soil Stabilizer Technology for Rs. 90.37 cr 55-km road from Dokmoka to Laharijan on NH-36 in Karbi Anglong in presence of Sum Ronghang, Minister (Department of Mines & Minerals, Govt. of Assam), Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang and MP Horen Sing Bey.
