Assam Police’s mobile app for Women safety

Pratidin Bureau

The Assam Police has decided to launch a free mobile application for women in distress, through which an SOS alert could be raised for police to react at the shortest possible time.

The application is being developed by the same team of experts, who had successfully done the mobile application 'Himmat' for Delhi Police.

The free mobile application will also have a special feature for scanning of QR codes of private cab drivers to verify their details. The developers' team is working on the language aspect. The application will be available in Assamese language as well to make it user-friendly and also encourage more and more women to opt for it.

It will hit the GooglePlaystore soon. Assam Police is hoping to launch the mobile app within two to threemonths.
