Assam: MoU Signed for Filmfare Award

TheAssam tourism department and Times Group have signed an agreement to host the65th Filmfare Aware at Guwahati.

Theagreement has been signed in the presence of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal,Tourism Minister Chandan Brahma and Chairman of Assam Tourism Development CorporationJayanta Malla Baruah and Times Group Managing Director Vinit Jain.

Theagreement has been signed at Hotel Taj Vivanta.

Speaking on the occasion, ATDC Chairman Jayanta Malla Baruah said, "The 64th Filmfare had reached around 160 crores of people and this time we hope that the award will reach 200 crores of people. Assam is safe for the tourists and to spread this message the Assam tourism has supported the Filmfare award and decided to host in Guwahati."

Meanwhile, Sonowal said that the Assam Government will bear the expense of Rs. 23 crore in the Filmfare award.

The Filmfare Awards will be held at Rajib Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Amingaon in February 2020. This is the first time ever that the Filmfare ceremony event will be held out of Mumbai.
