Assam Govt Issues Toll-Free Number To complain against price rise

The Assam government has issued a toll-free number (1800-3453-611/1967) for consumers who are charged more than the prescribed fixed price by the state government at Rs. 66 of onion.

Theonion price in the state has touched skyrocket at Rs. 70-80 as the productionhas been reduced due to the unseasonal rainfall.

Assam Food and Civil Supplies Minister Phani Bhushan Choudhury has fixed the price of onion at Rs. 66 and also launched a toll-free number if any trader charge exorbitant price of vegetables.

Meanwhile, the traders alleged that they can't sell onion at Rs. 66 as they have to undergo loss. They said that they have to pay transportation charges and labour charge and it is they who pay not the government. So how will they know, claimed the traders.
