ASSAM | Doctors to halt services on Tuesday

In view of the recent gruesome murder of Dr. Deben Dutta at Teok Tea Estate, the IMA Assam State Branch, joined by Assam Medical Service Association (AMSA) calls for the following agitation programme in protest against the act and demanding security measures for doctors and in health establishments:

  1. "24 hours Withdrawal of medical services excluding emergency" by doctors all over the state from 6 am of 3rd September to 6 am of 4th September 2019.
  2. On 2nd September 2019 between 10 am to 2 pm all local branches of IMA in Assam and units of AMSA will handover memorandum cum notification of strike to all administrative authorities (DC, SDO Civil, Circle Officers, SP, SDPO, Jt. DHS, Medical Superintendent etc.). The format of memorandum will be released later in the evening.
  3. On 30 September 2019 around 7 pm all doctors in white coat accompanied by family members will be on street with on a candle light procession to mourn the death of Dr. Deben Dutta the procession should end with a prayer meeting for the peace of the departed soul.
  4. On 4th September in the sideline of Lokabandhu Day programmes, a general meeting to be held in all local branches of IMA and local units AMSA and an in-depth discussion should be held on the issue and strong resolutions to be sent to the state offices.
