Assam: Dacoits Posing As Police Robs Man Of Areca Nuts Worth Rs 50 Lakh

In an untoward incident, a group of dacoits posing as police personnel robbed a trader in Assam's Chirang district on Thursday night.

The dacoits reportedly took away 100 sacks of areca nuts worth Rs 50 lakh besides some other cash.

Police said a group of five to six persons entered the house of one Kanhaiyalal Sethia and robbed him.

The victim alleged that the group entered his house by posing as policemen and tied him up, after which they took away his cash and around 100 sacks of areca nuts.

Further, the dacoits also covered the CCTVs installed at his house and took away the data storage.

No arrests have been made yet.
