Assam College Student Seeks Chief Minister's Help After Cybercrime Attack

The victim, Subanisha Patra, who had been denied a scholarship for the past month, alerted the chief minister that a vicious circle had hacked all of her social media accounts, including her email.

A 4th-semester student of Barnagar College in Barpeta who has been a victim of cybercrime sought Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s help during his visit at the 93rd annual convention of the Srimanta Sankardeva at the Srimanta Sankardev Samannay Khetra in Rangia, Kamrup district on Sunday.

Following his address near the event's main stage, the chief minister met with the victim girl.

The victim, Subanisha Patra, who had been denied a scholarship for the past month, alerted the chief minister that a vicious circle had hacked all of her social media accounts, including her email.

The girl claimed that he had previously approached the state education minister, Ranoj Pegu, and the Assam police about the event, but she received no assistance.

The girl then met the chief minister on the main platform today, on the convention's final day.

Assam's Chief Minister assured her that the issue will be resolved and reportedly asked the concerned officials to look into it immediately.
