Assam: 12 More COVID-19 Patients Discharged

Another 12 patients of COVID-19 have been discharged fromhospitals in Assam on Wednesday night, informed state health and family welfareminister Himanta Biswa Sarma through his twitter handle.

Sarma in his tweet wrote, "12 more patients were discharged late-night on June 17 H'kandi DH 2; B'Nodi MH 2; Telahi MH 2; B'bandha MH 2; B'gaon DH 2; G'ghat DH 1; GMCH 1."

Assam registered 4694positive cases of COVID-19 with 2029 active patients. A total of 2654 patientshave been discharged after their recovery.

Meanwhile, the number ofdeaths due to COVID-19 has increased with two new deaths reported on Thursday.

However, the new deathshave not yet officially declared by the health department.

One death has been reported from Barpeta Medical College and Hospital (BMCH) after sustaining a severe head injury while he tried to escape from the hospital.

Another death has been reported from Diphu in Karbi Anglong. The youth who died of COVID-19 in Diphu Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) returned from Chennai on June 16 and was admitted to hospital after complaining of breathing problems.
