Arunachal Pradesh to get new airport

Flying straight to Arunachal Pradesh is soon going to be a reality as the state to get its first ever full-phased airport at Hollongi in Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border (13 KM from Gohpur).

The proposal of Greenfield Airport at Hollongi has been cleared by the Ministry of Environment & Forests, the Steering Committee of the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

On Friday, Public Investment Board (PIB) meeting in the Ministry of Finance cleared the proposal after detailed discussions.
The Airport to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 1,043 crore, including Rs 955.37 crore as Central share and Rs 87 crore being State share,The PIB set a target to have the airport ready within 4 years.
