APW files FIR against Hajela with CBI

The Assam Public Works(APW) on Thursday filed an FIR with the CBI against former Assam NRC StateCoordinator Prateek Hajela. The APW in its FIR against Hajela demanded ahigh-level investigation over "huge amount of" corruption and misappropriationof government money by the then NRC State Coordinator.

They demanded an investigation into the appointment of numbers of retired govt. servants as Hajela's advisor. "What types of work have been done by the said advisors are not known and further no records are available in this regard, and it is not audited by CAG," said APW in its FIR. They further said that no remuneration has been paid to the teachers engaged in the process but huge money is shown to have been paid to such teachers.

The APW also alleged financial irregularities on the purchase of different products like laptops and electric generators.

Regarding the above allegations, the APW demanded an investigation by the CBI against Hajela.
