AMSU stages Economic blockade

The All Moran Students Union (AMSU) and the Moran organizations have called a economic blockade from January 20 to February 20 in Tinsukia , Dibrugarh and many parts of Assam and also organised a bile rally for the fulfillment of their various demands.

Their  demand includes, Autonomous Council for the Moran Community and Schedule cast (ST ) status. They also demanded withdrawal of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016 and cancellation of  privatization of oil fields in Assam.

The protesters cautioned of intensifying the blockade in entire Assam if their long pending demands are not taken into consideration and fulfilled by the  government. 

AMSU also threatened to launch an economic blockade in Arunachal Pradesh seeking permanent resident certificates (PRC) for the Moran community residing in the state .
