Akhil attacks Sonowal govt. over P&RD appointments

Pratidin Bureau

"Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal has turned into a king of corruption," said Akhil Gogoi on Friday in Guwahati referring to the recently announced appointments to the Assam Panchayat and Rural Development (P&RD) Department. Gogoi also alleged direct involvement of Minister Naba Kumar Doley into the massive irregularities in the appointments.

Attacking the current government for allegedly appointing BJP leaders and petty leaders' family members in the P&RD recruitment, Gogoi said that it was much bigger scam than that of the APSC. He also said that when CID has submitted its investigation report citing irregularities in the recruitment exam, the government should not have announced the appointments.

Gogoi also asked the concerned authorities as to why the documents of the appointed candidates were not verified and why the police verifications of the candidates were not done before appointing.

Addressing the media, the KMSS leader also announced agitation programme against the State government for the alleged irregularities into the appointments.
