Atul Bora led Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), who recently ended the alliance with BJP, is yet to decide on an alliance for the coming Lok Sabha Election. The executive committee meeting held on Wednesday formed a panel to plan the election strategy and to take decisions regarding alliance for the LS polls, which is likely to be held between April and May 2019.

The nine-member panel includes party president Atul Bora, Keshab Mahanta, Pradip Hazarika, Prafulla Kumar Mahanta, Brindaban Goswami, Phanibhushan Choudhury, Kamalakanta Kalita, Birendraprashad Baishya and Ramendra Narayan Kalita.

It should be noted that the party leader Satyabrat Kalita on Wednesday evening said, "AGP will not do anything that hurt the people of the State."

Earlier, AGP withdrew their alliance with the BJP in January over the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.
