Bhupen’s statue demanded in RS

AsomGana Parishad (AGP) MP of Rajya Sabha Birendra Prasad Baishya on Wednesdaydemanded to install the statue of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika in the premises ofParliament House.

Birendra Prasad Baishya raised the issue on Wednesday at Rajya Sabha to install Hazarika's statue while reiterating about his contributions made for the people of Assam as well as for the country.

Prasadsaid his contributions will remain alive in the minds and hearts of people.

The Speaker of the Rajya Sabha, however, retorted on the demand made by Baishya.
