Adivasi Jatiya Mahasabha-called bandh effects lower Assam

Along with the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), Assam is also reeling under the politics of granting Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to six ethnic communities. Adding to the unrest created by the two burning issues, a 12 hour bandh has been called by Adivasi Jatiya Mahasabha which has effected lower Assam.

Kokrajhar and Chirang are witnessing the effects of the bandh with much intensity, while it has partially effected Bongaigaon.

Koch Rajbongshi Students' Association has extended their support towards the 12 hour bandh against CAB and granting ST status to six ethnic communities.

The bandh has witnessed mixed reactions in Kampur.
