Action against 28kg Barali fish seller

The Director of Fisheries has asked the district fishery devt. Officer to enquire the sale of 28kg Barali fish during fishing ban period as per Assam Fishery Act,1953 (amended 2005) in city market and take action against the offenders as per law.

The 28kg 'Barali' fish became a centre of attraction for city people in Ulubari market, on Thursday morning. As per reports, the fish was caught in the Brahmaputra river by a fisherman namely Shyamal and bought to the Ulubari market, early morning.

Director of Fisheries also directed to report along with action taken must reach to the undersigned within 24 hours of the issue of the letter. Moreover the director has directed the district fishery devt. Officer to visit the fish markets of within Guwahati City daily and report to the undersigned in every afternoon through AFIO.
