In a horrific incident, a girl was attacked with acid in Banderdewa of Lakhimpur district in Assam. The boy, who attacked the girl, has not yet been identified.

The incident took place in Banderdewa's Pathali Pahar where the girl resides. She was on her way back from college when she was suddenly attacked by the unidentified youth.

The girl is a student of Sankardev College in Pathali Pahar. She has been taken to Lakhimpur for further treatment.

Following the incident, locals and students of the college blocked the National Highway 15 in Pathali Pahar in anger against the gruesome case.

They demanded justice for the girl and urged the police to nab the criminal immediately.
