AASU protests against rising fuel, cooking gas prices

Pratidin Bureau

AASU on Thursday launched a protest in Dighalipukhuri against the increasing prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas.

The protest was organised under the aegis of the Students' Union's Kamrup District wing and the Guwahati wing. The organisation has demanded the control of the prices of necessity items as early as possible.

Not only in Assam but prices of petrol and diesel were also at its peak in important cities such Delhi and Mumbai.

Fuel prices have been witnessing a steep rise since the past few weeks. With the blame game between opposition and the ruling still on, the union government has stated that global crude oil prices and other international factors are causing a hike in prices of petroleum products.
