AASU-allies ready to roll a bout of agitation

Best known for leading the six-year Assam Movement against illegal immigrants, AASU (All Assam Students' Union) is ready to roll for a fresh bout of agitation from January 31.

A series of united demonstration of AASU and 30 organisations in protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, to be started from January 31. As per AASU's official release, a statewide torch light rally to be staged on January 31 by the AASU-led anti-CAB united non-political front.

On February 4, AASU and allies to stage 10-hour statewide hunger protest from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm.

AASU staged a statewide national highway blockade on Tuesday from 12 noon to 1 pm; the call for the NH blockade came a day after the attack over AASU activists at Nalbari.
