Assam BJP President Ranjit Kumar Das on Thursday said that 84 seats are guaranteed for the BJP even if the elections were happening today.

"The BJP will not be harmed by AASU or any other group. Opening of new parties is good for the BJP. Opposition parties will divide their votes among themselves against the BJP. The BJP is not worried about the Congress led grand-alliance. We will win 100 seats in 2021. 84 seats are guaranteed even if the elections are happening today," said Das after his prayers at a Namghar.

Responding to the on-going Chief Ministerial debate, Das said that the selection of CM candidate is up to the national leadership and also expressed his views on Congress-AIUDF alliance saying BJP is not worried.

 "It is up to the national leadership who will be the next CM candidate. The AIUDF and Congress alliance does not affect me as a whole. If the leadership wants me to fight in a different constituency, I will do so."

Assam Legislative Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in April 2021.
