The 70th Death anniversary of Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi has been observed at his samadhi near Navagraha Crematorium on Wednesday.

Assam Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya paid floral tribute in the statue of the first Chief Minister of Assam on his death anniversary.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister expressed happiness on the Assam Pradesh BJP state committee which was formed on Tuesday. The minister said that the committee was formed to maintain the balance.

The minister said that they will contest in the upcoming election with the new committee that was formed yesterday.

Gopinath Bordoloi's son Bolin Bordoloi also paid tribute to his father by lighting lamp on his statue.  

The Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (M) Biswajit Pegu was also present on the occasion.
