1L Toilets To Be Built in Assam: Sonowal

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday said that one lakh toilets will be built in the state and 1004 tap water supply will be connected.

Speaking on the occasion of Swachh Mahotsav at Khanapara, Sonowal said, "More than one lakh people participated in the Swachhta Hi Sewa program since October 1 to make the state free from plastic and to create a clean and healthy environment."

Sonowal said that water health cards would be distributed at the panchayat level.

Minister Rihon Daimary, while speaking on the occasion said that thepublic health department has banned single-use plastic from October 2. He saidthat till October 1 6969 kilograms of plastic have been collected and 6394 kilogramsof plastic have been extracted.
