15 detained in Teok incident

TheJorhat Police have detained fifteen people in connection with the unfortunateand tragic incident that took place in Teok tea garden under Jorhat district onSaturday evening. Earlier the police detained one identified as Ajay Manjhi inthe same case.

It may be mentioned here that the incident took place after a patient named Samara Manjhi breathed his last at the hospital. The attendants and locals alleged that there were no doctor and nurse when they admitted the patient. Following the death of the patient, the angry locals brutally beaten the hospital authority and Dr Deben Dutta. During the incident Dr Dutta sustained serious injuries and referred to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH), but unfortunately, he expired while undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile,a magisterial inquiry has been ordered regarding the incident. ADC SubhanGowalla will conduct the inquiry and submit a report in 7 day.

Thesituation in the tea garden in under control, claimed Police.
