100 ASTC Buses Allotted for Amubabachi

The Kamrup (M) District Administration has allotted more than 100 ASTC buses to transport devotees of Ambubachi Mela to be held from Saturday from the camps to the base gates of the temple.

The vehicleswill be used to carry devotees from their camps at Naharbari, Pandi, Boripara,Fancy Bazaar, Sonaram Field to the base gate of Kamakhya Temple during thefestival. The bus service will start from 6 am in the morning and will continuetill midnight.

In additionto the ASTC buses, the administration will also provide 20 metro-share taxis,20 Innovas and five Mahindra Boleros will be on duty for transporting peoplevisiting Kamakhya temple during the festival.

The devoteeswill have to go from the base gate to the temple premises by foot as theadministration won't allow any vehicles to travel to the temple premises.
