Acting on actionable intelligence, a crack team from the Noonmati Police Station, part of the CGPD, descended upon a rented residence located in Yuva Nagar.

Upon conducting a thorough search of the premises, city police officials uncovered a cache of illicit firearms and ammunition. Notably among the confiscated items was a sophisticated factory-made .22 pistol, accompanied by a fully loaded magazine containing 21 live rounds of ammunition.

The individual taken into custody was identified as Rajesh Rai, known by the alias John Konyak, originally hailing from Nepal.

Further investigations by the police have unveiled that Rai had arrived in Dimapur nine years ago.

Significantly, on 22 April, he had traveled from Dimapur to Guwahati with the intention to sell pistols.
