In a shocking incident, a worker employed at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) committed suicide at the hospital premises itself on Thursday.

According to sources, the employee, identified as Papu Das, injected poisonous drugs into his body and committed suicide.  

The worker had a conflict with a senior officer following which he took the step.

Papu joined the hospital three weeks ago and worked as an ICU technician at the hospital.
