RaniMukerji's edge of the seat entertainer Mardaani2 is all set to release thisyear with Yash Raj Film (YRF) announcing that the much-awaited cop thrillerwill release on December 13, 2019.

Raniis reprising the role of the fearless and committed Superintendent of Police(SP) Shivani Shivaji Roy in the film. She had delivered an outstandingperformance in the superhit and hugely acclaimed prequel, Mardaani in which shetook on the kingpin of a child trafficking racket.

Raniwill be seen pitted against a 21-year old menacing villain in the film who canbe called pure evil. There is a lot of anticipation as who will be her villainand the crime that Rani will try to solve in the sequel.

Itmay be mentioned here that, Aditya Chopra is set to launch a new face as theantagonist.

Thefilm marks the directorial debut of Gopi Puthran, the first Mardaani filmwriter.

Thefilm was shot extensively in Jaipur and Parts of Rajasthan.
